Manhasset Bay Protection Committee Meeting

A representative from each member-municipality is appointed to serve on the Committee. the job of each representative is to represent the needs of its municipality, present ideas for activities, serve as an advisor to the Director and most importantly, bring tools and information back to its municipality so that it can become an effective part of the effort to restore and protect Manhasset Bay and its watershed.

Vernal ponds, meadows and wooded areas attract a variety of visiting migrants and nesting birds, in addition to raptors and thrushes. Each day is different during migration season. Dress for ticks, however, we will be on mowed paths for most of the walk.
Spring Gardening School 2018

The day consists of workshops held during three sessions, offering information for beginners to advanced gardeners; and a keynote address on “The High Line: Lessons for Your Garden”; by Roxanne Zimmer, PhD, MGV, Peconic.
Included in the fee are free soil pH testing, a plant diagnostic clinic, gardening exhibits, and an early plant sale from some of the finest nurseries on Long Island; continental breakfast, delicious boxed lunch, raffles and door prizes.
Fee: $65 per person ($60 for early birds who register by March 1st).
