    2018.02.02
    https://lirpc.org/event/world-wetlands-day/

Join NYC Parks Stewardship and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy as we celebrate World Wetlands Day!

Urban wetlands provide a variety of benefits including improved water quality and storm water retention. They also serve as a critical habitat for native wildlife. Volunteers will be removing debris from the Seagirt Avenue Wetlands in Far Rockaway. Volunteers should dress in clothes that can get dirty, close-toe shoes, and warm layers. They are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by chaperone.

Space is limited. Registration required. For more information contact mary.hanchar@parks.nyc.gov.
