Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society – “Path through History”

2019-10-12 18:30 - 20:00

Docents from the Fire Island Preservation Society guide you on a lantern light tour of the barrier beach for a trek (mostly on the boardwalk) over to the historic lighthouse.  Along the way, you will learn about the history of the beacon, shipwrecks in the area, the U.S. Life Saving Service and the Fire Island Light Station.  Warm twilight beach attire is recommended along with a flashlight, lantern or cell phone.  Tower tours will be offered until 9 pm for an additional fee – $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Reservations are required 631-661-4876.
